Office Party
We had a lovely holiday luncheon at Bravo with all the employees of the prosecutors office in attendance, except our one new attorney who will start on New Year's Eve. There were Secret Santa gifts as well as a white elephant exchange. I think you will all be able to tell that we all had our eye on the pineapple candle. Stylish!

Christmas Musical
The kids all participated in a musical put on by the children's ministry at church. Kameron was old enough to audition for a lead role and was cast as seen below as Artie Fisheltree, nerdy school choir director. He gave a command performance and all the other kids did a great job singing in the choir, although, admittedly, they had to wait through a LOT of dialogue in between songs.

Sorry!
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but we have been BUSY BUSY BUSY. All the usual, plus multiple deals on both houses all of which keep falling through so far. Adrian's been playing on the school's basketball team, the girls have Brownies and Daisies and Kameron was cast in the church's Christmas musical as "Artie Fisheltree" the school's nerdy choir director. See below. It's tonight at 7, at Unity of OP if anyone is interested. (And how could you not be!)

Congratulations to Greg and Sara!
They got two new puppies, Toby and Breaker on Sunday. There was one brother left unadopted out of the litter and we couldn't resist. Seth named ours Luke.

Suzanne Made Me Do It
Pharyngula Mutating Genre Meme
There are a set of questions below that are all of the form, “The best [subgenre] [medium] in [genre] is…”. Copy the questions, and before answering them, you may modify them in a limited way, carrying out no more than two of these operations:
— You can leave them exactly as is.
— You can delete any one question.
— You can mutate either the genre, medium, or subgenre of any one question. For instance, you could change “The best time travel novel in SF/Fantasy is…” to “The best time travel novel in Westerns is…”, or “The best time travel movie in SF/Fantasy is…”, or “The best romance novel in SF/Fantasy is…”.
— You can add a completely new question of your choice to the end of the list, as long as it is still in the form “The best [subgenre] [medium] in [genre] is…”.
You must have at least one question in your set, or you’ve gone extinct, and you must be able to answer it yourself, or you’re not viable.
Then answer your possibly mutant set of questions. Please do include a link back to the blog you got them from, to simplify tracing the ancestry, and include these instructions.
Finally, pass it along to any number of your fellow bloggers. Remember, though, your success as a Darwinian replicator is going to be measured by the propagation of your variants, which is going to be a function of both the interest your well-honed questions generate and the number of successful attempts at reproducing them.

Oh My Gosh
Our Weekend:
Benefit concert for a family we knew from preschool:
Mark Orr Benefit Concert
Saturday, October 20, 7 p.m.
Atonement musicians are giving a benefit concert for Mark Orr
and his family. The concert will take place on Saturday,
October 20 at 7pm, following a dinner at 6pm in Charter
Hall. A free will offering will be taken and all donations will go to
the Orr Family.
In February 2006, Mark Orr was traveling on business when he
was involved in a serious car accident. His injuries have been
extensive and have required twenty months in a rehabilitation
facility in Carbondale, IL. Lori and their two young daughters, Ragen and Isabel have
traveled to see Mark every other week to watch his progress and offer their support.
Mark and Lori's life will never be the same. Mark has had to
relearn how to walk, speak and eat. When he finally comes
home this month, he will have many needs to make his
transition successful to life at home. The greatest of these
are 24 hour nurse care for the rest of his life, a handicapaccessible
van, and a special machine to help him speak. Lori
has already had to purchase a new home that is being made
handicap-accessible.
Atonement musicians are proud to be able to help! The
Contemporary Ensemble (of which Mark was a member), the
Chamber Ensemble, the
Sanctuary Choir, and a Jazz Ensemble will all be there
for an evening of wonderful music. A dinner is being
provided at 6pm, hosted by the Atonement MOPS
group.
We hope you will join us on Saturday, October 20 at
7pm to show your support of this wonderful family and
in welcoming Mark home!
Dinner at Carraba's with Suzanne (and a not real smart server):
Church at Unity with Greg and Sara including fantastic music by Bukeka Shoals:
Laundry courtesy of Gaga Kathy:
Pumpkin patch hijinks:
Awesome dinner at Toni and Dick's with Abby, Jon, Brennan and Ryan, Mom and Michael and us:
