Oh My Gosh
Our Weekend:
Benefit concert for a family we knew from preschool:
Mark Orr Benefit Concert
Saturday, October 20, 7 p.m.
Atonement musicians are giving a benefit concert for Mark Orr
and his family. The concert will take place on Saturday,
October 20 at 7pm, following a dinner at 6pm in Charter
Hall. A free will offering will be taken and all donations will go to
the Orr Family.
In February 2006, Mark Orr was traveling on business when he
was involved in a serious car accident. His injuries have been
extensive and have required twenty months in a rehabilitation
facility in Carbondale, IL. Lori and their two young daughters, Ragen and Isabel have
traveled to see Mark every other week to watch his progress and offer their support.
Mark and Lori's life will never be the same. Mark has had to
relearn how to walk, speak and eat. When he finally comes
home this month, he will have many needs to make his
transition successful to life at home. The greatest of these
are 24 hour nurse care for the rest of his life, a handicapaccessible
van, and a special machine to help him speak. Lori
has already had to purchase a new home that is being made
handicap-accessible.
Atonement musicians are proud to be able to help! The
Contemporary Ensemble (of which Mark was a member), the
Chamber Ensemble, the
Sanctuary Choir, and a Jazz Ensemble will all be there
for an evening of wonderful music. A dinner is being
provided at 6pm, hosted by the Atonement MOPS
group.
We hope you will join us on Saturday, October 20 at
7pm to show your support of this wonderful family and
in welcoming Mark home!
Dinner at Carraba's with Suzanne (and a not real smart server):
Church at Unity with Greg and Sara including fantastic music by Bukeka Shoals:
Laundry courtesy of Gaga Kathy:
Pumpkin patch hijinks:
Awesome dinner at Toni and Dick's with Abby, Jon, Brennan and Ryan, Mom and Michael and us:
